Supporting the people you serve and the people who serve them.
Healthy communities are built by supported humans.
Discovering Kaia partners with organizations to create accessible, adaptable well-being experiences for individuals, staff, caregivers, families + helping professionals.
With roots in programming for autistic individuals and people with intellectual + developmental disabilities, Dan brings a human-centered approach to mindfulness, movement, stress management + connection.
Programming can be offered as a one-time workshop, recurring weekly or monthly program, staff wellness experience, caregiver offering or customized community initiative.
Programming That Meets People Where They Are
Every community is different.
The practices that feel supportive for one person, group or environment may not feel supportive for another.
That's why programming is designed around the people actually participating.
Experiences may incorporate:
Mindfulness + meditation
Adaptive yoga + gentle movement
Breath awareness + grounding practices
Somatic awareness
Relaxation + stress-management practices
Sensory-conscious activities
Reflection + creative exercises
Community-building experiences
Sessions can be adapted according to age, ability, communication style, sensory needs, environment, group size + organizational goals.
Disability + Neurodivergent Community Programming
Dan's professional facilitation journey began in 2018 through teaching yoga, meditation, mindfulness + emotional-regulation practices to autistic individuals and people with intellectual + developmental disabilities.
That experience continues to deeply inform her approach today.
Rather than expecting every participant to move, communicate, focus or engage in the same way, Dan creates experiences with flexibility at their center.
Programs can incorporate movement, breathing, mindfulness, sensory-conscious relaxation, music, reflection + opportunities for connection while allowing participants different ways to engage.
Programming may be appropriate for:
Autism + developmental-disability organizations
Day habilitation + community programs
Educational + recreational programs
Adaptive wellness initiatives
Residential + community-based programs
Family + caregiver organizations
Other disability-serving organizations
Programs can be offered as individual workshops or developed into recurring weekly, biweekly or monthly experiences.
Supporting the People Who Support Everyone Else
Caregivers, direct-support professionals, educators, therapists, social-service professionals + helping professionals spend tremendous amounts of time caring for other people.
Their well-being matters, too.
Discovering Kaia offers dedicated experiences where staff + caregivers have an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with themselves + practice accessible tools for navigating the demands of helping work.
Sessions may incorporate mindfulness, gentle movement, guided relaxation, breath awareness, reflection, grounding practices + practical stress-management tools.
Programming may be incorporated into:
Staff development + appreciation days
DSP + caregiver wellness initiatives
Professional development days
Team retreats
Staff meetings
Employee well-being initiatives
Ongoing weekly or monthly programming
These experiences aren't about asking people to become better at enduring impossible workloads.
They're about creating intentional space for the human beings doing deeply human work.
Parent + Caregiver Support
Supporting someone you love can be meaningful, beautiful, exhausting + complicated — sometimes all at once.
Parents + caregivers are often so focused on appointments, advocacy, schedules, services + the needs of their loved ones that their own well-being becomes secondary.
Organizations can bring Dan in specifically to create spaces for parents + caregivers to reconnect with themselves.
Experiences may include mindfulness, guided relaxation, gentle movement, reflection, stress-management practices + community connection.
These can be offered as standalone gatherings or incorporated into an organization's ongoing family-support programming.

A Complementary Approach to Well-Being
Programming offered through Discovering Kaia focuses on general well-being, mindfulness, movement, reflection, stress management + community connection.
Many of the practices incorporated into programming — including mindfulness, meditation, movement + breathing practices — have been studied for their potential role in supporting stress management and general well-being.
Discovering Kaia's programs are complementary wellness experiences and are not psychotherapy, medical treatment, clinical behavioral services or a substitute for care from appropriately licensed professionals.
