Dan Arhakos

Mindfulness Practitioner • Somatic Facilitator • Modern Ritualist • Retreat Facilitator • Spiritual Guide

Individual Support • Adaptive + Community Experiences • Retreats • Organizational Well-Being

Dan Arhakos is a mindfulness practitioner, somatic facilitator, retreat facilitator + spiritual guide with more than eight years of experience creating spaces for reflection, connection, personal growth + well-being.

Her work has taken many forms over the years, but one thread has remained constant:

creating spaces where people can feel more fully human.

Dan began facilitating professionally in 2018, teaching yoga, meditation, mindfulness + emotional-regulation practices to autistic individuals and people with intellectual + developmental disabilities.

Working alongside individuals, families, direct-support professionals, educators + therapeutic teams profoundly shaped the way she facilitates today.

It taught her that meaningful support cannot be one-size-fits-all.

Different bodies communicate differently. Different nervous systems require different environments. Different people connect through different practices.

And sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer another human being is the experience of being met exactly where they are.

An Adaptable, Human-Centered Approach

Today, Dan works with individuals, families, caregivers, helping professionals, communities + organizations.

Her work draws from mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, gentle movement, somatic awareness, nervous-system education, reflective practices, energy work, ritual + spiritual exploration.

Rather than asking every person to participate in the same way, Dan creates adaptable experiences that consider individual comfort, communication styles, sensory needs, abilities + personal boundaries.

Her work may support people navigating stress, grief, burnout, loss, identity shifts, spiritual exploration + significant life transitions.

She is especially passionate about supporting autistic + neurodivergent communities, people with intellectual + developmental disabilities and the ecosystem of humans surrounding them — including parents, caregivers, direct-support professionals, educators, therapists + helping professionals.

Because the people who spend their lives supporting others deserve spaces where they can be supported, too.

Working With Organizations + Communities

Dan partners with community organizations, disability-service providers, wellness spaces + professional teams to create accessible experiences centered around mindfulness, movement, stress management, reflection, connection + well-being.

Programming can be created for the individuals an organization serves, the professionals providing that support, parents + caregivers, or combinations of these communities.

Offerings may include:

  • Adaptive yoga + mindful movement

  • Meditation + mindfulness

  • Breathwork + grounding practices

  • Stress-management + self-regulation practices

  • Sensory-conscious relaxation experiences

  • Staff + caregiver restoration

  • Reflective workshops

  • Community connection experiences

  • Customized recurring well-being programming

Programs can be adapted according to group size, setting, abilities, accessibility needs + organizational goals.

Spirituality, Ritual + Retreat Work

Spirituality has also been an integral part of Dan's personal life + professional work.

Over the years, she has facilitated retreats, ceremonies, spiritual gatherings + transformational group experiences in the United States and internationally.

Her approach bridges the mystical + practical — honoring ancient contemplative and spiritual traditions while remaining grounded in the realities of being human.

For those seeking explicitly spiritual work, Dan offers opportunities to explore ritual, energy practices, spiritual reflection + connection with the sacred.

These experiences are offered separately from organizational + community programming and are always approached with respect for individual beliefs, backgrounds + boundaries.

Training + Experience

Dan's education has been multidisciplinary, reflecting the intersection of mindfulness, movement, somatic practice, spirituality + facilitation that informs her work.

The Story of Discovering Kaia

If you've been here from the beginning, you've watched this work evolve through many names, places + seasons.

That evolution is intentional.

Our work changes because we change.

We learn what works.
We recognize what no longer fits.
We develop greater discernment.
And hopefully, we have enough integrity to allow our work to evolve alongside us.

The name Kaia represents that evolution.

Across cultures and interpretations, Kaia has been associated with Earth, sea, purity, forgiveness + rejoicing.

For us, Kaia became something even simpler:

a reminder of our relationship with this living world.

Earth + Ocean.
Sun + Moon.
Light + Dark.
Joy + Grief.
Becoming + Remembering.

Kaia holds the beautiful contradiction of being human — everything + nothing, all at once.

For those who have walked beside us since the beginning, thank you.

And if you're just arriving, welcome. ♡

The moment I have realized God sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see God in him - that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free.
